Nasdaq came to us with a big question: how much could we upgrade their website in twelve months?

Uhh, like Nasdaq.com? The whole site? Yep, the whole site. Our team had to start from scratch, canvas Nasdaq.com, and execute a focused track of work within a year

Nasdaq's big challenge was digital governance. They had a fantastic array of products and services, but were struggling to surface the right ones to the right prospective customers.

Old Model

With dozens of companies forced into a single UX/IA, offerings quickly became homogenous and buried.

We decided to start by organizing Nasdaq's fintech portfolio, Nasdaq Solutions. We proposed, scoped, and executed a complete overhaul with a new IA, navigation, and design system.

New Solutions

The new ecosystem championed Nasdaq's deep roster while promoting a cohesive visual strategy that paired the right users with the right KPIs.

Overhauled IA

The results may look straightforward but the process was anything but.

We had to think of Nasdaq's new system as a suite of upgrades rather than a single fix.

Content Strategy

We had to be mindful of content at every level. From IA to page copy, we always wanted to reinforce the core KPIs.

Information Architecture

We sorted solutions by focusing on core KPIs like lead volume, lead quality, and relationship building.

Microsites

Then we built templates around these KPIs, creating a new IA of nested microsites that gave companies the ability to govern their own sub-domain of Solutions.

Microsite groups

We took the IA one step further by allowing companies to build their own sub-page networks that didn't have to worry about the larger Nasdaq infrastructure.

Design System

We adopted an agile approach to shipping pages that fed back into a evolving design system and component library.

Expansion

The test cases were such a success that the design system was adopted across the entire Nasdaq.com site.

You don't build something like this overnight. Achieving consensus, creating a visual language, crafting an engineering workflow, there was a lot that had to happen to get the new Solutions in front of the world.
